"Uncle Davids" are $50.00 notes & are known as this by the Aboriginal community at Point McLeay, SA. David Unaipon, a member of this community is featured on the current $A50 note, along with the church at Point McLeay and some of David's inventions. He was one of the most influential Aboriginal men in Australian history. The village church (also on the $50 note) influenced his life. The community is currently fundraising and needs 600 "Uncle Davids" to complete the restoration of their historic church: Have you got any Uncle Davids in your pocket? I need to pay the power bill.
