A "cubie" is the term boarding students at my son's boarding school in Adelaide use for their cubicles - larger dormitory is partly partitioned off, forming cubicles for boarder's bed, cupboard & desk. Not sure if this term is used beyond this one school, but suspect it may be used at other boarding schools at least in Adelaide: I left my homework in my cubie so will have to collect it at recess time.
