hump day

Wednesday. Being over the 'hump' of the week and heading towards the weekend; the middle of the week: "Today is hump day; hump as in noun not as in verb' - As far as I am aware the term hump day originated in Adelaide in the 1980's on FM Radio with the DJs John Vincent and Grant Cameron. I have never meet a non-South Australian who had heard of this term and I often found myself having to explain the term in the Eastern States or New Zealand when I forgot where I was and used it as most non-South Australians assumed that the 'hump' refered to was the verb.
