bunghole

Contributor's comments: Heard extensively in the north west of WA (around Carnarvon) in the mid-1970s, especially amongst locals and those from the stations. Since heard in the Perth region, but not as common as in the north west.
Contributor's comments: The word bunghole is used in Nth S. A to describe the removal of a small amount of wool around a sheeps tail . The amount of wool removed is less than that taken off in the more commonly known crutching of sheep.
