busti malaka
Vulgar insult originating from the Darwin Greek and Italian communities: You are a busti malaka.
Contributor's comments: I went to highschool (1970s) in Meadowbank, Sydney, where a third of our form was Greek, and so we used "busti malaka" on a daily basis. Also, "malaka busti".
Contributor's comments: Busti Malaka - also used in Melbourne given the high population of Greeks (also by non-Greeks). We would exagerate the words to suggest our ignorance by saying 'Busty Mala-car'. Generally used jokingly.
Contributor's comments: There is a high proportion of Greeks in the Top End, so there may be a relationship between this phrase and a Greek origin.
