a term used for describing fire-lighting material in days gone by, but still used occasionally.
Contributor's comments: As children on the Darling Downs in the fifties, we used to think it hilarious that our mother, who came from NSW (Kandos, Mudgee, Sydney) referred to 'pine' wood as 'deal board'. Local people never used it - but it has a long history apparently.
