dishing

(to dish) serving food: Come to the table, I'm dishing the food now.

Contributor's comments: I regulalry hear the term "to dish up" used in Adelaide SA.

Editor's comments: Actually to "dish up" and to "dish out" are standard around Australia. What we are interested in is when the verb "to dish" is used WITHOUT the "up/out" attached. Can anyone help with this one?

Contributor's comments: I have used and have heard dishing or to dish someone which was used as "grass" ie/ informant and another meaning was gossiping about your friends to another group.
