An exclamation of supprise, simmilar to the use of "true" or "really?" Sometimes used with "ay?". Heard in the school playgrounds of Narrogin in the 1970s: When relating how someone took a specky mark at footy, or found a two dollar note down the lane on the way to school; the listener may exclaim "...chow wun eh?" Also, chow woon, chow wun.
