Calaglese
The hybrid Italian Australian dialect derived from the Calbrian migrant group. It is a unique combination of conversational Calabrian (Southern Italy) & Inglese (English) that evolved from an attempt to linguistically assimilate during the wave of 50's & 60's migrants. It is only truly understood by Calabrian migrants. It resulted in quirky lines that would be meaningless in the old country and are uniquely Australian: In Calaglese, See you in the garden would probably sound like "di vidiamo te la backyarda" or to "go bush" in Calaglese would be "vai busho". Simply listen to a group of Calabrian old timers talking.
