receptacle for holding rubbish/household waste. (Used by my 70 yr old mother who grew up in Sydney): It's broken, so put it in the dirt bin.
Contributor's comments: Yes, I had an old friend from Sydney who died in her 80s some years ago & though she had lived in SA most of her adult life it was always the dirt bin, not rubbish bin.
