Contributor's comments: I first heard "long-drop" in the Army Cadets in Hobart, around 1957 - same meaning as above.

Contributor's comments: I was brought up Mt. Isa Qld. and I remember going to a number of stations around the region, and he always refered to 'long drop'. Dad was brought up in Cairns.

Contributor's comments: My relatives farming on the Northern Tablelands of NSW turn off the water to the house dunny at the first hint of drought; and then everyone has to leg it outside to the long drop until the rains come.
