We used to play a version of Tippy-go-run at my primary school in Albany, southwest, Western Australia. I have always known it to be called "Kangaroo Cricket". I've never heard this expresssion anywhere else. Compare tip-and-go, tip-and-run, tippety, tippety-run, tippy-runs, tipsy, tipsy-run.
