Contributor's comments: My wife has only ever heard "yard duty" in secondary schools in S.E. Qld, whereas I have only ever heard "playground duty" in primary schools in the same area.
Contributor's comments: In the Darwin/Palmerston primary schools that I have taught in, playground supervision by teachers has always been referred to as "yard duty".
